Training center for crafts & occupations

Children who can not or do not want to change to Secondary School (high school) after graduating from the Primary School have to independently take care of their future life. In Uganda, craft training has only recently been organized. Since no corresponding training was offered in Mutolere, the association decided together with the ecclesial community to offer a training center for craft professions. The parish pastor provided a suitable plot of land and the club sought the necessary financial cover to build the necessary buildings.

After constructing the buildings and equipping them with tools and sewing machines, the training center accepted its first students in carpentry, masonry and tailoring in 2011. Since 2014, the center has also offered computer courses for its students and other interested parties. In the following years, the training offer was expanded. Now trainees can also acquire their state-recognized degrees as educators, typists / secretaries and accountants here.
Currently, the Vocational Centre has about 60 students.
